Our checklist makes it easy to open a DATCU account

If you are part of a UNT student organization, we are here to serve you. The process for opening an organization checking account is outlined below. Completing them makes it easier for UNT Student Activities and DATCU to offer you a friendly and convenient banking experience.

Obtain UNT Student Activities Verification Letter
Complete the "Checking Account Verification Request Form" in OrgSync to request an authorization letter with specific information that confirms that your student organization is currently registered.
Request Organization EIN/TIN

If your organization does not already have a federal identification number, it must request one via the IRS (Form SS-4).  Visit our branch in the UNT Union to complete a new Resolution and Signature Card

When you have your UNT verification letter and your EIN/TIN, all authorized signers on the account must visit the DATCU University Union location in person to sign a resolution and signature card. This provides account access to officers or signers within your organization.

Account signature revisions

If your organization has an existing DATCU account and needs to add or remove account access or signature privileges, complete the following steps.

Provide Meeting Minutes and UNT Student Activities Verification Letter
Bring both documents into the DATCU University Union Branch.
Update DATCU Resolution and Signature Card
Existing officers or authorized signers remaining on the account have the option to sign an updated resolution and signature card in person or electronically. Organization representatives being added as new officers or signers must visit DATCU in person with identification to sign the new resolution. Each new signer can visit at different times.
